Fei Comodo – New Album News

Fei ComodoYou know something; I’m beginning to really love Pledge Music. The charitable funding source has given me much pleasure from Funeral For A Friend, Charlie Simpson, The Subways and most recently InMe. Next up is Ginger’s triple album 555%, but the primary focus of this little piece is to encourage some support for one of my new favourite bands.

Fei Comodo, recently seen touring the UK with Exit Ten, are scheduled to release their new album Behind The Bright Lights via Small Town Records on April 30th, but wanted to create a special edition of the album. They’ve teamed up with Pledge Music and are offering an exclusive hand numbered special edition in different packaging and with some bonus tracks and video content alongside the regular CD. If you don’t want the physical disc, you can pledge for a download of both the album and the special edition second disk goodies too. Continue reading

Charlie Simpson – Farmer and His Gun

Charlie Simpson has released the video for “Farmer and His Gun”, the fourth single from his debut solo album Young Pilgrim. The song has a gentle, touching vibe and the animated video reflects the songs themes with a nice literal twist.

‘Farmer & His Gun’ will be released on March 25 as part of a four-track EP, which will also include a cover of Jackson Browne’s ‘Barricades of Heaven’. Continue reading

InMe – The Pride (2012)

InMe - The PrideI’ve had my eye on this one for a while. Another album financed via the Pledge Music website, InMe have been providing samples, demos and behind the scenes snippets for the last few months during the creation of The Pride. All those little appetisers indicated The Pride was going to be good and now it has been released I can finally enjoy the main meal.

I was a big fan of InMe’s early material although I hadn’t heard much of the last two albums I gave them a whirl again when the Pledge Music project launched. Having heard those albums again so recently, The Pride doesn’t feel like any sort of radical departure. It sounds like you’d expect an InMe album to sound and that’s no bad thing. Continue reading

New Band Spotlight: Little Vegas Lies

Musicscramble are happy to present to you Little Vegas Lies.

Who are you and where do you hail from?
We are Little Vegas Lies, a Brit rock/indie/pop 5 piece guitar band from West Yorkshire.

Please introduce the band members.
Steve (Guitar) Simon(Vocals) Andy(Bass) Lee(Guitar) Craig(Drums)

How would you describe your sound?
We have a very British sound to our music which follows in the footsteps of The Beatles, The Who, Stone Roses, Verve and Oasis which ranges from melancholy, laid back arrangements  to uptempo, guitar driven songs.

People will like your music because…
We have an honest, grass roots sound to our music which lacks pretense, and focuses on melody above all else.

Halestorm – Love Bites (So Do I) (2012)

Halestorm are back with the first single from their new album The Strange Case Of… and it is entitled ‘Love Bites (And So Do I)’. The single is another classic slice of Halestorm following on where they left off. You can watch the video after the jump below and make up your own mind, but we at musicscramble love it.

As an aside, I saw Halestorm perform this and a full set in support to Shinedown in Glasgow last night.  It’s the third time I’ve seen Lzzy and the band, and once again believe them a force to be reckoned with.  A full review (I promise) will be posted in the coming days.

And now to the video… Continue reading
